How to change the base language of CRM 4.0

Question
-
We have a customer that want the convert his base langauge from English to Norwegian.
We have big problems with using the Norwegian langauge pack, because the translations disappear on the import av the xml file.
What is the easys what to change the base langauge. Do we need to create a new clean install and than import the data from the old database?
Or Is there an easier workaround?Sunday, April 26, 2009 7:16 AM

Hi Gjøran,
sorry, there is no easy workaround.
You have to do a clean install. You can import your english customizations into you nowegian installation. I hope that the translations will not disappear after this...
Then you have to import your data from you old CRM database which is no easy task because there are no standard tools to do this.

Hi,
Hope somebody still reads this post! I would like to un-install the English base language installation of CRM at my customer site, and replace with Dutch. My gut feeling tells me I can restore the customer database from a backup and import the organization, can anybody confirm this for me?
Thanks

I wish this to be true, as I have exact the same task. Please share your experience... Is it possible to install CRM in different language that a current installation and then import Organization with old language?
