Sil3114 PCI Card Issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • Anybody have any idea what this means?

When I  load any drivers for the Rosewill RC-209-EX PCI Card (Sil3114) the drivers take and I reboot.

When WHS comes back online it has an Exclamation point and Device Cannot Start (10)

System Event Logs Shows - ERROR:  Driver Detected an internal error in its data structures\Event ID 4.

The above error is the same regardless of the driver I try.   I am wondering if this card is DOA, or if I am missing something.

  • FYI - Issue is resolved not sure exactly how.

    1. uninstalled all drivers.
    2. shut down
    3. put card in different pci slot
    4. booted and provided drivers and it worked.

    go figure.

  • I believe that the card has a 'magic' switch for Raid/non Raid operation?

Maybe there is a command line switch when installing the drivers, if not, a quick email to their support might yield dividends.

  • This card does have a bunch of jumpers for enabling disabling the various ports but I am not sure about RAID.   I will look at the card more closely tonight.   I have emailed their support but I am not expecting much.
