Add product doucment in CRM 2011 RRS feed

  • Dear all,

    I have a CRM 2011 server where I manage my product.

    One simple question:

    We have our document PDF representating our product and service in a newtwork share. I have seen we add document to a product. I got the idea to attached the PDF brochure to each of our product. When doing so :

    1 - What is the best approcha to do that ?

    2 - Does the document is store in CRM database, or is it just a link to original document location ?

  • Hi,

          The best approach for document storage will be to store the documents in SharePoint and use OOTB CRM to SharePoint connector to view the documents from CRM. If for any reasons you cannot use that option then you can upload the documents to product entity as attachment. If you use CRM attachment the document is stored in CRM database and if it is stored in SharePoint it is link to the document in SharePoint.
