Some Vista Clients constantly get an "Audio not configured." message when attempting to do an Audio/Video Call RRS feed

  • Question

We are about to distribute OCS 2007 client throughout our business. Some Vista clients (about 35%) get the following error when trying to start a video / audio call: "Audio not Configured" I have ran the audio wizard several times, but no settings seem to save. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • I saw this issue once. Simply unplugging and pluggin back in the USB webcam/microphone seemed to resolve it most of the time. Give that a try first.

  • Using Regedit,

you need to delethe this key:

    HKEY_LM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Communicator\(Delete All here)

Doing this, you has your communicator without any kind of "customizations"

    Works like a charm.

Thank you so much, Have you seen any impact of any feature not working because of this.

Did some further work on the problem. You do not need to delete all the keys. just change the Min port range 50,000 and max port range to 59999 for the media ports and it resolves the problem.

    Thanks again for the help.
