client backups - is the backup code in windows home server 2011 the same as sbs essentials 2011? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Every few months my database gets corrupted.

I find keeping backups running a hassle.

If the code in sbs 2011 is better I will consider switching to that.

  • SBS Essentials, Storage Server Essentials, and Windows Home Server 2011 are all built on the same code base ("Colorado"). As such, the backup functionality is identical, as is most other functionality (if present, SBS-E doesn't include the media server features).

I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

  • No idea, but I have never had a corrupted database using two WHS 2011 Servers ever since it was released! It might be worth a try for only $50.
