INSTALL WINDOWS TO AN EXTERNAL HDD?

HELLO

i have an hdd 150 gb thats currently running windows 7.

i have a external hdd thats 500 gb and i formatted it to NTFS.

I am wondering if that i can boot from the windows installation disk and plug in my external hdd and when it asks me where do you want to install windows i press my hdd and then it installs there?

and also when everything has finished and i booted from the external hdd and continued installation process will i be able to use windows from both the internal hdd (150 gb) and also have the choice to boot from my external hdd that i installed windows on from the bios?
