  • holtkenn,

The error code 0013-80070002 generally means that OneCare installation is being blocked.

One thing that should be noted is that before installing OneCare, it is suggested to uninstall any other antivirus or firewall

programs currently on your computer. OneCare might not run, or it might slow the performance of your computer, if you install it when other antivirus or firewall programs are also installed on your computer. During the setup, OneCare checks for common antivirus and firewall programs that are known to conflict and provides means for you to uninstall them.

There is a great KB article that will help you to troubleshoot OneCare installation issues:

You can also visit another thread that explains what the 0013-80070002 error code refers to and how to troubleshoot it.

  •  To whoever can help me:

I had Windows Live One Care on my laptop, and my harddrive crashed.  After many phone calls and hours upon hours of talking to people who don't speak english, the determination was that my harddrive needed to be replaced.  Luckily, as all of this happened, I was home on mid-term leave, (im in the us army and deployed in Afghanistan), so I was able to make these phone calls and send the computer in.  The computer was returned with nothing on it, as I was told it would be, except for the regular start up programs that were installed.  I had to reinstall Windows Live One Care, and I recently had (about 5 months ago) renewed my subscription for another year.  I have the confirmation email in my Gmail account, but according to Windows Live, their is no account with that email address.  So, I tried my hotmail account and was able to login, but it said I didn't have an account with that email address. So, because of this, I am currently running my computer with no subscription.  I really need to find out how I can fix this.  I have no way of calling anybody, and my internet is not good enough to chat with somebody.  I tried to use my original Key for the activation, but it said that it has already been used with a different account (my gmail one).  Please help me out with this!!  If possible, email me at devonb.101@gmail.com

    Thank you for your help,

  • Devon, you can use email support as a trial user to reach support. They can help you determine the LiveID for your subscription.

How to reach support (FAQ) - http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2421771&SiteID=2

Alternatively, sign in at http://billing.microsoft.com with email addresses that you have set up as LiveIDs and one will show your subscription listed - that would the LiveID to use to activate with.

If the activation dialog already contains a LiveID from a prior attempt or one used in trial mode, but this is not the one you need to activate with to associate it with your subscription, see this post for how to reset this - http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2776450&SiteID=2
