CRM Online without Office 365

Question
-
Hi,
One of our clients is interested in using CRM online. However, they do not have office 365. What are the implications of this and would they really need office 365 to use CRM online?
They currently use citrix to access their servers. I believe they have adfs and outlook installed on their server. Can this be used to allow sign in to Dynamics CRM online instead of office 365 accounts?
Sorry, Not that familiar with the architecture of CRM online.

If they still haven't been rolled over to Office 365, they must have a very old legacy account. All CRM Online instances are supposed to be migrated to the Office 365 account structure, even if they don't have/use Office 365.
I would contact MS Support and see why they haven't been migrated, for one. Office 365 works quite well with an ADFS setup and their local domain accounts. Better then the old way, actually.

Hi,
They will have a Office 365 portal where they will administer the CRM and people will log in to the CRM with a <username>@<org>.onmicrosoft.com. I haven't done anyting with ADFS and online yet but this blog shows how it is done. Again, I haven't tried it, just did a quick search since I have heard about federating the login to CRM online.

I have done it quite a few times. It works rather well, and then they can log in with their domain account instead of the OnMicrosoft account.

CRM Online can integrate with your own AD via ADFS. You can go through the SSO section of O365. CRM use O365 Azure to do the authentication.
