Getting message "Error 1311. Source file not found E:\SKU112.CAB\SKU112.CAB. Verify .... RRS feed

  • Question

  •

...that the file exists and that you can access it."  I get this message when I try to install OFfice 2007 from the CD I bought from Amazon.co.uk.

HELP!  I work two jobs and am finishing my Cert Ed course and do not have hours to look for the answer to why I cannot install Office 2007 on my computer.

Has anyone had this happen to them?  What did you do?  Should I contact Amazon and tell them they sold me a defective CD?

Thank you very much for your help, anyone!

What i did was uninstall my old Microsoft office

  • Jobe4 we are of one mind.  I am just trying to update from Office 2003 to Office 2007 (both purchased at retail - I must be mad) and hit the SKU112.cab problem.  Because the installation offered "upgrade" I thought that I would uninstall 2003 and proceed to get a new install of 2007.  I did not go on because I am an Outlook user and 2007 Office Home has dropped it.  This feels expensive.

  • I encountered this problem with SKU112.cab with upgrade to 2007 office (have Windows XP no idea what service pack) and tried several workarounds including uninstalling 2003 office but still ran into issue. Finally tried CUSTOM install (rather than upgrade all) and selected "Leave old versions" on for word, excel and ppt.  This worked beautifully and I do have icons for both 2003 and 2007 versions.
