Customer Portal for CRM 2011 Import Failed RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Everyone,

Yesterday i spended serveral hours trying to import the CustomerPortal Solution to the CRM but the Import is failing everytime with the following error:-

A managed solution cannot overwrite the EntityMap component with Id=8dc11d93-a941-e011-bd96-00155da72a02 which has an unmanaged base instance.  The most likely scenario for this error is that an unmanaged solution has installed a new unmanaged EntityMap component on the target system, and now a managed solution from the same publisher is trying to install that same EntityMap component as managed.  This will cause an invalid layering of solutions on the target system and is not allowed.

and this error is occured in systemuser-contact.

What is the Problem? i tried to to search for above GUID everywhere :) but couldn't find it.

    Thanks in Advance.

  • There is (was) a bug in the CRM solution system that did not allow for a second solution to be imported when one solution already has a relationship between two entities.  The good news is that this was resolved in UR6.  Please download the latest CRM update and then try to import your solution.

  • I am also having the same error.  The systemuser-contact entitymap seems to be the issue.  This is CRM 2011 Online.

    Does anyone have a resolution?

  • Man, It is a Weird Issue.

Let's try to find what's common between my deployment  & your deployment so we can know what is causing the error?

Do you have any other Solutions Installed? If YES, What is the the Solution. If Not, then were you having any Solution Before ( Like me ) and then removed it.

  • Hmm.  The only thing I have done is create some unmanaged solutions to export customizations to another development environment.

We have modified a number of the entities and added new ones however the mapping in conflict I believe is a system generated mapping (OOB).

  • I think you're right. I think it's a bug and Customer Portal Development team must Investigate this issue.

  • Did anyone find a solution to this?

I am just trying to install the 2011 portal after upgrading from CRM4 eService portal and am getting a similar error.

A managed solution cannot overwrite the OptionSet component with Id=3dd76af8-5e82-4b56-81ab-7855aebe99cd which has an unmanaged base instance.  The most likely scenario for this error is that an unmanaged solution has installed a new unmanaged OptionSet component on the target system, and now a managed solution from the same publisher is trying to install that same OptionSet component as managed.  This will cause an invalid layering of solutions on the target system and is not allowed.

We have 2 solutions which have been created that modifys the ribbons and site map and thats it.
If anyone can help please let me know.
    Thanks
    Lee

  • i'm facing the same issue , i found that eservice accelerator entities on CRM 4.0 must be deleted before you import the CRM 4.0 Database ot the new CRM 2011 but the issue rised here that you can't delete the eservice entities from CRM 4.0 , with small search Microsoft relase some article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/954940/ , and to delete those entities you must contact microsoft to provide you with tool "ChangeCascading Tool" i dont have any response from microsoft yet for this tool.

  • Hi I have just been trying to set this up and am stumbling at the same point when trying to import the solution, getting the following issue:

"A managed solution cannot overwrite a {0} component on the target system that has an unmanaged base instance.  The most likely scenario for this error is that an unmanaged solution has installed a new unmanaged {0} component on the target system, and now a managed solution from the same publisher is trying to install that same {0} component as managed.  This will cause an invalid layering of solutions on the target system and is not allowed."

Is there a way around this at all?

    Thanks

  • I just signed up with a 30 day trial with Microsoft and have exactly that same issue. Does that mean MS has not installed UR6 or are there other causes? Note that I only signed up for the trial and the very first thing I did was the import.

  • hfaun,

There are hundreds of clients that have installed the solution file into a new CRM Online organization.  That is a very well tested path.  You mention that you signed up for a new trial and the first thing you did was the import.  Are you certain that you did not import any other solution nor do any other customization?  If so, you are probably the first person to have this type of problem, but I would like to see this with my own eyes and try to troubleshoot it.  One of the things you can do is call into support and open a support ticket.  Ask that I be added to the support communication and send me the ticket number.  My email is my firstname dot lastname at adxstudio.com.   Another thing that would be incredibly helpful is to share a Live ID credential with me that has access to the org so that I can look at it and determine why this org does not import a standard managed solution file.  Please let me know how you want to proceed.  You can communicate directly with me in email and then we can update this forum post with the resolution.
