Editing Folder Locations without Creating New Pair RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have found that if I run a Pair in which one of the folder locations is a mapped connection which hasn't been logged into, the drive location will change and the only way to resolve it seems to be to delete the pair and re-create it. Is there another way round this?

  • I am not very clear about what do you mean "hasn't been logged into"?
If  you mean you want to change the created map connection, use edit way to re-map it to a new location,  before your running sync, you donot need to delete and recreate this folder pair.

How would you edit the folder pair? I though that this could not be done, so if need to change  the left or right folders, you needed to create a completely new folder pair from scratch?

  • Hi -
You are right - you cannot edit the folder pair. If you need to change the folder - you do have to create a new folder pair. Try creating the folder pair as a mapped location ( \\servername\share\ etc) instead of a Z:, Y:, etc.

    Thanks
