  • The installation is counterfeit.

You have an ACER OEM_SLP Product Key installed on a retail motherboard - this cannot legally be activated.

You need to reformat and reinstall using genuine media and Key.

  • I'm sorry but I disagree.  I obtained the license for Windows 7 legally.  I use an installation available from my MSDN license to load the OS on my new PC.  It's been running fine for 2 years.

  • OEM_SLP Licenses for ANY Windows version are ONLY valid where they were supplied as part of the original installation - direct from the manufacturer.

Your Product Key is form an ACER machine.

Your machine is based on a retail motherboard.

You have no rights whatsoever to use an OEM_SLP Key.

  • I'm not sure where the ACER comes in.  I bought all the pieces and built my own machine.  There is nothing ACER on it.  I then used my MSDN license to put Windows 7 Ultimate on it.  I shouldn't have to use another license to correct this.  I did change my SSD drive recently but I mirrored the 80g to the 256g.  It's been working fine for a month.  Not sure if it's related or not but it's the only change I've done recently.

  • The Product Key here ends HYRR2 - if you Google it you'll see what I mean about Acer.

MSDN Licenses are of Retail type - not OEM_SLP. There is no trace of any MSDN license type in your report.

  • my problem was changing my primary drive.  I will hook the old drive back up, get the key, hook up the new drive then activate it by phone.  If that doesn't work I will probably just upgrade to Windows 8.  Don't really want to but I have to upgrade my primary SSD. 80gb was just not enough anymore.
