  • Hello DGLVenter,

Both your installations of Office and Windows on this computer are nongenuine Volume Licensing editions.  Windows was installed with an Invalid Product Key (one that was generated by a pirating program called a KeyGen and was never issued by Microsoft) and Office Professional 2003 was installed with a Blocked Volume Licensing Key (one that was at one time issued to a business, educational, or governmental organization, but was lost, stolen or compromised to the internet and is now Blocked from further use).

The installation of Office Home and Student 2007 has returned a code of "117" and I have never seen that status code before so I can not tell you anything about it.

Do you have a Certificate of Authenticity for Windows affixed to the computer?  If so please tell us what version and edition of Windows is described on the CoA, but do not post the Product Key that may be printed on the CoA.

Do you have a Certificate of Authenticity for Office?  If so please tell us what version and edition of Office is described on the CoA, but do not post the Product Key that may be printed on the CoA.

  • Hello DGLVenter,

Everything that Dan has writen is correct.  As for the 117 code. That does not appear to be a proper Office Validation and it suggests to me that that office is having problems of some sort.  I recommed reinstalling that Office (on aGenuine copy of Windows, of course) and then re-run the MGA Diag report.  A proper Office Validation code should shown.

    Thank you,
    Darin MS
