Unable to install Windows Live One Care

Question
-
While attempting to install Windows Live One Care, I encounter an installation error. It tells me my system is unsupported due to Service Pack 2 not installed. My XP Home version is at Service Pack 3. How can I have Service Pack 3 without having Service Pack 2. I have automatic Updates update my computer with Microsoft and I did not force a Service Pack 3 installation. How can I correct this issue? Just install Service Pack 2 over Service Pack 3? I'm guessing you are using an older CD to install One Care. Download the One Care trial - http://onecare.live.com/standard/en-us/install/install.htm then follow the instructions here to activate - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/935899

Thank you Jim for your reply. I have been trying to get it installed from the download site and this one looks familiar. I will try yours just to make sure I have attempted what I would call all options. I'm not understanding why the computer I am attempting to install Live One Care on gives me that message that I have an unsopported system due to Service Pack 2 not being installed yet my system shows I am at Service Pack 3. I will let you know if your URL gives me better results. Thank you. Oh, no CD is being used to install Live One Care, just downloading from web-page.

it is strange that the installer, if you are downloading from http://onecare.live.com, is reporting that you need SP2 if your PC is already at SP3. The best that I can suggest is to review the standard installation troubleshooting steps here:
See this post for the KB article to troubleshoot install problems - http://social.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/onecareinstallandactivate/thread/ba26b781-da18-4ce4-be8c-22647bd5d8fc/
And contact support (via email as a trial user) if you continue to have problems.
