Win7 Genuine and Forum Bugs RRS feed

  • Question

  • Well I have two problems:

One is about Windows Genuine Message. I downloaded the Windows Genuine tester (or so) to download Virtual XP. It worked but after some days now Windows security essentials says my Windows would not be genuine. I tried to visit the page that tests Windows being genuine

    http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate/?displaylang=de&sGuid=57269308-44ec-4074-b5c0-8937ce51764b

but apparently it keeps testing forever. After an hour or so nothing has happened yet.

The other one is about the microsoft answers forum. I cannot seem to be able to login there.

While I am loged in, there is a message saying I would be not, and there is a link to "continue". There is also a "sign out" link on top right(which proves I AM logged in). Clicking either "continue" or "sign out" merely redirects me to that same page again, here'S a screenshot.

Hope you can help, my Windows is Win7 x64 Prof.

That kind of symptom often indicates a problem with Cookies.   In IE8 you could try using its InPrivate mode, e.g. press Ctrl+Shift+P, to try to avoid that factor.

    Good luck
