Greetings.
I have a Compaq Presario onto which I just installed XP Pro SP3. I inherited this computer from another co-worker a while back, and it had NT 2000 installed on it. I had certain problems with the computer, so I decided to reformat the hard disk and install
XP, which I did this morning. I'm using an official XP Pro SP3 CD which I bought on eBay, it looked brand new and never-used until I opened it. XP was installed properly on the computer, except that when I try to activate it, it says the product key is invalid.
I have the COA sticker right here and it looks genuine, from what I can tell. Does the activation fail because it's OEM software? Some help would be appreciated, as I paid 95$ for this 'new' copy of XP... Here is the information generated by MGADiag:
