Synchronize two servers across internet RRS feed

  • Question

  • I had read a while ago about there was a feature to synchronize two Windows Home Servers across the internet but I checked the latest features and didn't see it listed.

The specific use is that I want to keep my music collection up-to-date across my home here and a second location without having to manually sync them. Obviously I would sync locally the first time, but after that, it would be great it it would automatically keep up-to-date.

  • There is no such feature in the product, or planned for release anytime in the near future. If you want such a feature, you should post a suggestion on Connect.

  • Great synching program. Assuming it will run on WHS.

Will ViceVersa Work Over Any Connection Between Two Computers?

Yes, when you can "see" the source and target folders using Windows Explorer and you can manually copy/move/delete files between the two machines.

  • Windows Live Foldershare will do it. I've had it working on WHS for a few months. It is beta, and currently limited to 10,000 files (I think). I'm not sure what it's future is, given that Live Mesh can do the same thing. Live Mesh will not install on WHS (yet).
