Windows 7 Activation Iss ues RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have Windows 7 Home Premium Genuine OEM Key and I just bought a new hard-drive for my laptop, I installed the hard-drive with a Clean Install of Windows 7 Home Premium and It's saying my OEM Key is invaild?

I tried going through the online activation and it fails to verify.

It does not show the Windows 7 Phone Activation at all like It's not even there. Is there a way I can get to the phone activation so I can activate windows successfully?

I bought my Laptop from Bestbuy nearly a year ago, I never touched the licence key at all. First time with this laptop.

Noel, that's why I'm telling him to use the COA key.  I said,

"Use the product key on the COA sticker on the label affixed to your computer (in the battery compartment for laptops)."

SLUI 4 dives direct to the Telephone Activation wizard using the current Key - it's SLUI 3 to get to the Change Product Key Wizard.

You need to activate.  Use the product key on the COA sticker on the label affixed to your computer (in the battery compartment for laptops).  Click Start and type "slui.exe 4" for phone activation.  Follow the instructions.  Do not use the product key listed in your report.

  • It doesn't give me a OPTION AT ALL, to activate by Phone. It's like its not even there. It only has 3 Options

    Buy a New Product Key
    Change Product Key
    OR
Contact Microsoft (Help & Support Box)

    That's all it gives me!

Colin - it's an OEM_SLP Key, which won't give any options to activate by phone.

    Ryox.
You first need to change the Key to the COA Key on your sticker on the case - then you should be able to activate by phone.
