Trouble validating

Question
-
Hello,
I have some trouble validating vista when I try to download a hotfix (KB940105) from your webpage.
I have tried to go to http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 to run the diagnostic program but ie says:
"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"
I get the same result if I'm using the alternate validation option from the download page.
Could you please help to understand what I am doing wrong?
Regards,
Magnus

Hi mager17,
First off, would you go to http://microsoft.com/genuine/diag and click the Start Diagnostics button. This tool will ensure you have your setting set up correctly to Validate.
Next would you download and run the Genuine Diagnostics tool at this link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012. Click "Continue" click the Windows tab, click the "Copy" button, then paste the report into a response message in this thread. This will allow me to see if there is any issues in Vista that are preventing you from Validating.
Thank you,

Hi mager17,
It should be a simple thing, but I know from experience that it's too complicated to troubleshoot installing an ActiveX Control over the forums, so I suggest opening a (no cost) support request at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52029 and they should be able to fix you up.
Thank you,

Hello Darin,
Thank you for your answer.
I don't know what I am getting wrong here, starting to feel a bit stupid
).
When I run the diagnostic that you sudgested it passes the first five steps and then fails on the "Windows-validation ActiveX loaded". The diagnostic says that ActiveX is enabled but it doesn't tell me how to resolve the problem with the validation... I don't get the question to install the ActiveX components.
