Is there any group policy setting that can be applied at the client side to disable chatting?

If you login, you can setup the standard properties foof live meeting for all users. There you can disable chat
There is a Livemeeting.ADM but it does not have many settings and nothing about chat
You can indeed disable it via the Live Meeting Console when joined to the meeting as presenter and go to Attendess => Permissions and disable the chat function
