whsdeskbands.dll and IE6 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,
I recently added a new XP Client to my Home Server. The client uses IE6. Both are fully updated. When I close IE6 on the XP machine it terminates with an error message. I can solve this by disabling the IE Addons "BrowserHelper Class" and "Home Server Banner". Both are using the file WHSDeskBands.dll.

Is there another way to solve this issue and keep the addons activated?

    Regards Frank.

  • If you're using Internet Explorer 6, you're not fully updated. Internet Explorer 7 was released in 2006, and previous versions are now deprecated. So my first thought is that you should update to IE7. That said, I don't think you should be having a problem with IE6. But I don't have any computers still running IE6, so I can't be certain.

I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
