CRM 2013 setup Check AspNetServiceAccountCanMonitorPerfCountersValidator : Failure: The user name or password is incorrect. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello all,

During the CRM 2013 setup wizard we get the error: Failure: The user name or password is incorrect.

    From the setuplog:

Check AspNetServiceAccountCanMonitorPerfCountersValidator : Failure: The user name or password is incorrect.

We use different domain accounts for all services and added the accounts for the Application Service and the Asynchronous Processing Service to the local Performance Log Users Group.

When we configure the Application Service and the Asynchronous Processing Service with the network authority account the failure is gone.

Suggestions are welcome! Kind regards, Jan

  • It looks like maybe you made a typo when entering the password for the service accounts during the CRM setup or someone has changed the password for the service accounts.

If these service accounts are only being used by CRM, then consider changing the password from AD and try the setup again.  Also make sure that the service accounts are set to password doesn't expire.  Last thing you want is to go into production and shortly after, nothing works in CRM because of a password issue.

  • Thank you for your reply.

We already ready retyped and changed the passwords.

Maybe it is a problem with the local Performance Log Users Group.

We installed CRM on a server with Windows server 2012 R2.

  • No, still not solved.

We configured the services with the network authority account.
