SyncToy not syncing anything RRS feed

  • Question

  • I used SyncToy successfully on my computer with XP then (thank you Microsoft it only took me a day) had to convert my computer to Windows 7 because supposedly my system would no longer be secure with XP. I'm slowly working through all the things that don't work on my computer after the conversion. One is SyncToy. I have three folder pairs. Each of them is set up to copy a folder from one drive to another, for instance I have one which copies "C:\users\[my user name]\Documents" to "E:". It uses the Contribute option. When I run SyncToy it spends an eternity checking for changes in every folder on the E drive. It has no need to do this. It just needs to make a copy of the source file on E. Because it spends so long doing this it never actually gets round to copying anything from my C drive to the E drive before I turn my computer off at the end of the day. How do I fix this?
