CRM Performance Issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • HI Team,

We have one CRM environment out of five that is performing very slowly, namely our Dev environment. The environment is running in VMware. On this particular physical WM host we have two of our five environment namely Dev and QA.

The CRM logs on Dev show large numbers of queries that take 0.5 seconds to execute. The same logs on QA show the same or similar queries taking 0.0 seconds to execute. If we extract the SQL Queries from the log and run them directly on the SQL-Servers using Management Studio they execute in between 0ms and 1ms on both the Dev and QA SQL-Servers.

We are not seeing heavy memory load or CPU load on any of the CRM or SQL-Servers whilst these queries are in operation.

So far to try to resolve the problem we have:-

    • Applied      the latest 0.2 service pack for on-premise CRM 2015
    • We      deleted and recreated the CRM Front-End server in Dev, re-installed CRM
    • Deleted      and recreated the SQL-Server
    • Performed      network level diagnostics on traffic between the CRM Front-End server and      the SQL-Server. Only thing of note was that CRM was seen to be sending      keep-alive pings to the SQL-Server.

In addition we copied the organisation database from the Dev environment and imported it as a new organisation on the QA Environment and the performance is improved to the same level as the native QA org database.

  • The 2 areas I'd look at are:

    1. Disk configuration in the VM
    2. SQL Settings - especially server-wide settings. Did you reinstall SQL Server, or just remove/add the role ?

  • Hi David, Thanks for your reply.

regarding the SQL box, we provision a new box from scratch, and we still face the same issue.
