CRM 2011 for Outlook setup sits at "Please wait while setup prepares the necessary files" RRS feed

    Hi everyone, I'm trying to install CRM 2011 on a Windows 7 machine and am not getting anywhere. When I download and run the installer, it just sits on the screen that says "Please wait while Setup prepares the necessary files." The green bar is moving across the screen, but nothing has happened for over two hours now. I've tried restarting the machine a couple times and restarting the install, but have had the same result. I've downloaded all Windows Updates. I'm very new to CRM and have no idea how to debug this issue. Anyone have any ideas? (I hope this is the right forum to post this question) Thanks!

    I left the install go all weekend and it eventually went through by Monday. Whether it finished when I went home that first day or later in the week, I couldn't say. Any ideas why the install took forever?

    Hi Kickehy,

    You can find the instllation log under following path:

    Windows 7: SystemDrive:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\MSCRM\Logs\

    Then you will find more info
