restoration/recovery disc not supplied by manufacturer

Question

Someoen Please Help.
I live in rural Spain where things are very different and difficult.
I am not an PC expert and I was not aware that when I bought a laptop that was an ex-display model as this was the only model that had all the features compatible for my work and home, I had to perform a restoration/recovery operation myself.
But something happened while the system was trying to restore to its factory setting and when I returned to my laptop, everything seems to have been lost.
HP said they cannot help as I should have created a recovery disc before attempting to do anything. The shop was unhelpful, too.
Can Microsoft or someone out there help me in anyway ?
I really need the laptop for my work.
Thank you and sll the best to all,
Maggie

Hello,
Thank you for the info.
But I have already told by the HP US that they cannot send me a recovery disc outside of US and HP Spain will not help.
That is why I have posted my question on the Microsoft Forum.
Please help !

Hi,
Sorry that I have not thanked or replied.
All info was very useful and helpful. I have tried to follow your suggestion and tried to contact all those that could suport me but as I am not based in the US, it seems that there is little it can be done.
It is unfortunate but I need to spend more to get it restored. I give up.
Thanks for your support.
All the best.
