LiveOneCare Restore - skipped files RRS feed

  • Question

  • Why would my LiveOneCare backup not restore (skipped files) when I was using it to restore to my new Vista computer?

It happened to over 5,xxx files - only a few of the files not restored said All Ready Exists. Also, I could not print out the list of Not Restored Files so I copied and pasted into a doc. I will need to copy from old computer on to a disc and move to new computer. I need thoses files.

    Did I miss something?

    Thanks.

  • Without knowing more about the files that were skipped in the restore and how your performed the restore, I can't say.
I know that OneCare will not restore files to the same location if that file already exists in the destination location.
What option did you use when you went to restore the files? Did you select to restore a custom restore from another computer and follow the prompts to restore all files? Have you tried to repeat the process and select specific files to restore and provide a specific destination folder to restore the files to?
Where are the backups located? An external disk, network Share or CD/DVD?
