exporting CRM 2013 online database into excel - what's the best approach? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

we need to export the CRM 2013 online database into excel. Is there a tool or what is the best way to export all of the data from CRM 2013?

We can go by each entity - say Account, Contact etc and export? Similarly for all activities though email activity may not come pretty! Then having to associate dependent records will be a big task!

    Appreciate your help.

  • Hi,

You can export the records from each entity with required columns.

Analyze what are the master (main) entities like currency, products... etc. Import them first, then you can import another entities.

For association, we can write generic code and use the same exported file.

  • You can use OOB export to excel utility to download ms crm entity record as suggested by Prabhu, but that require first customizing view to add column, apart from that you can develop a custom utility for you self to export these records and create excel files, in that case you don't need to modify any view and you will have more flexibility in term of exporting related entity records as well.

Also you can look for existing options like this
