  • Question

  • Will Office Communicator be picked up by the Windows update system. I've installed the communicator 2007 (beta)on a few client machines. Whats the easiest way to upgrade them?

  • My guess on this is no. I dont work for Microsoft and Im sure they can confirm but Windows updates is usually used to deploy patches and updates to software or an operating system already installed on a system.

The best way to deploy is to probably use some sort of application deployment program such as sms or another third party software. I also believe you can use GPO to deploy software though I have never done so.

    Good Luck.

  • I havent heard either, but there is now an OCS Software Update Server you can install. Currently, it only does firmware updates for the Phone Editions but I can see it expanding.
