Constant Error Message forcing wwt to restart RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I am have a problem when about 10-60 seconds after I open wwt an error message saying "Worldwide Telescope has encountered an error. Click ok to restart or cancel to attempt to ignore the error and continue."

If I press cancel to ignore, the message immediately just pops back up with the same message.

If I press OK, then wwt shuts down and restarts only to repeat the process all over again.

Also, if I click the x to close the window, the message pops up, which means once the intial error pop up, the only way to close the app is to press alt-ctrl-delete and kill the wwt process using windows task manager.

I read another thread and tried using advances system care to clean registry, bots, etc. and also someone told another user to goto C:user/(myusername)/appdata/local/microsoft_research and delete the file, uninstall the program, then reinstall. This did not work.

I really would love to use this program like I did in the past but I can't.

    Please Help!!!

  • I'm having the same problem.  It's also worth noting that as of 8:30PM MST 4/23/2015, the worldwidetelescope.org site is completely down. I hope that this is temporary.

  • What version of the client are you using?    You should be using 5.1.x Gold (or later)
