CRM 2011 for Non AD Users RRS feed

  • Question

  • The CRM 2011 for IFD has come up with ADFS 2.0 recommendations for public sites.

Now, with reference to SPS 2010, the claims based authentication can be done for custom users (for non AD users) by SqlMembership Provider.

Is this approach implementable in CRM 2011?

In simple terms, how can my IFD of CRM 2011 (in premise implementation) can entertain non AD, custom users like in SPS 2010?

  • I'm pretty sure you can't use this approach with CRM 2011. For any on-premise implementation of CRM 2011, a CRM user has to associated with an AD account

  • Agreed, and that is why we have products like Share Point 2010.   The presentation of data for consumption within a site in a site collection also has the means to draw from other applications.  Thus, we implement means to push data generated by business applications to Share Point.
