Windows Live Activation

Question
-
I purchased WindowsLive Care last year for the first time. I again purchased it this year but I am having problems with the installation. I keep getting the message the my subscription is about to expire. I have uninstalled all versions and reinstalled it on 2 computers to no avail. On one laptop, it keeps asking for the key which I don't know where to find. What can I do to fix these problems?Monday, March 24, 2008 7:22 PM

You did not need to uninstall/reinstall. You simply needed to renew with the retail key.
Now that you reinstalled, by activating with the same LiveID, the new install inherited the subscription status of the existing subscription and you were not prompted for payment or a retail PIN/Key.
Go to http://billing.microsoft.com and sign in with your subscription LiveID. (Open OneCare and click help/about to view the subscription LiveID)
Select the OneCare subscription and click on the renew link.
Choose the option to renew with a prepaid PIN or token which is the retail product key.
Enter the 25 character key and proceed.
It can take up to 24 hours for the subscription status to be updated in OneCare.
On the laptop, if it is requesting the key, then you did not activate that copy with the same LiveID as the other machine which is your subscription LiveID.

Thank you for your help. I am unable to find a 25 digit key on my cd. The numbers on the box are in groups other than 25 digit.Wednesday, March 26, 2008 7:05 PM

The key is going to be on a yellow/orange sticker *inside* the package. If it is the plastic box that looks like the Vista packaging, it will be on the back of the plastic holder for the CD.
