Windows Steady State and Screen resolution RRS feed

  • Question

  • This may be a dumb question and hopefully this hasnt be asked before.   I just installed Steady State and the prog works wonderfully.    My only beef with it is that once the user is logged in they are forced to view windows at by 800X600.  I understand the settings I have set restrict them from changing the screen resolution.  Basically Iam trying to  use Steady State and turn a machine into a thin client of sorts.   I don't want the user changing anything.  My question is what and if its possible can I change from administrative standpoint on the locked down users profile that I can change it from 800X600 screen resolution to a better resolution

  • Hi SCSI15, I'd like to inform you that screen resolution is not a global setting in Windows.  Since it's not per-user, locking the user's profile doesn't prevent the change from persisting.

You may be able to write a script to set the resolution to some default value, then run that script at logon and logoff.
