LCS 2005 - OCS 2007 Migration RRS feed

  • Problem migrating from LCS 2005 to OCS 2007.

Forest Prep for LCS 2005 automatically does the Forest Prep in the System Container, however we want to use the Configuration Container for OCS 2007.  When we do the Forest Prep for OCS 2007 and select the Configuration Container it errors out and says the it is already installed in the System Container.  Is this a design flaw?  Is there a way around this problem?  How can we have coexistence between LCS 2005 and OCS 2007 without removing LCS 2005 to get the objects into the Configuration Container?

  • Hello

The Microsoft Unified Communications & RTC User Group have posted a whole list of documentation upon their website ... http://mucuguk.org ...

If you look at the blog posting Microsoft announces OCS 2007 Release Date, Trial Software and Documents  ...

and then scroll down to Deployment Documents there is a "Migrating to Communications Server 2007" document there that may help

  • Yes I have read that manual cover to cover and nothing in the manual addresses the problem.  If you have LCS 2005 SP1 installed which installs in the System container then you cannot have coexistence between LCS 2005 and OCS 2007 if you want to install OCS 2007 in the Confiruation container.  It will not allow you to do it.  Test it you will get an error saying it already exists in the System Container.
