Where do photos go if...? RRS feed

    ...the blog has no image hosting incorporated with it?

    I understand that if I publish a post that includes photos to my Wordpress blog, the images will be hosted in the blog, which is fine. Posting photos to Blogger blogs would presumably put the photos on Picasa. But what happens when there's no photohosting with a blog? For instance Livejournal. What happens to the photo? Does it just fail to post at all, or does it go somewhere else?

    When I used Writer with a server that does not support images I got an error back from Writter telling me this.  In that case I set up a FTP server location via Tools/Options and then select the blog and then select Edit and then under the Pictures item you can set the FTP server location.

    What is a FTP server location? How do I get one? (More importantly, how do I get one that's free?)
