Lookup Field Javascript Event for Resolution RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I would like to dynamically update a a web page displayed in an IFrame based upon a lookup field.  Eg. When the subject lookup field is changed, the Iframe source is updated.

    I have been looking at the page DOM, and it seems that the lookup field itself is based on a hidden <INPUT> field for text entry, and a <SPAN> which contains the image/link which ultimately displays the lookup to the user.

    The javascript event that I need to attach to, is the the lookup resolution event (the equivalent of CTRL+K).  I have attached to the onchange event of the INPUT field, but this isn't fired when the forms assiatant is used.

    What is the javascript event for lookup resolution?

    Thanks,
    Dave

  • I'll answer my own question .. sourced from http://www.stunnware.com/crm2/topic.aspx?id=JS29

    1. Go to Entity Customization > Form Designer > Field Properties > Events
      a. Enable the event
      b. Add the OnChange code for the field:

    {
        MyLookup_OnChange();
    }

    2. Add the following code to the OnLoad event for the Form

    {
        ..

        MyLookup_OnChange = function () {
            ..
        }

    }
