Yet another "Windows is not genuine" error.

Question
-
Good evening, ladies and gentlemen.
A couple of days ago, I started to become plagued by a rather irritating little dialogue box that appears every hour or so on my monitor telling me that my version of windows 7 may not be genuine. It simply says that "optional update delivery is not working" and then there is a link that leads to the windows website where it tries to sell me a "genuine" copy of windows 7.
Initially, I was convinced that this must be some form of malware trying to extort money from me, since similar tactics are commonplace with ransomware in particular. However, when I noticed that the link led to the real microsoft website, I started to dig a little deeper to find the potential source of the problem.
In accordance with the guidelines in the sticky above, I am starting my own thread, and my MGA diagnostic tool report is listed below. I hope that someone is able to help me soon. It seems that a lot of people are experiencing this problem recently, so I'm fairly confident that a solution has probably been found by now.
I look forward to hearing back from you.

You have an OEM SLP install on a Retail motherboard. OEM SLP installs are only valid for the motherboard on which they were originally installed. You will need to purchase a Retail copy of Windows, format your drive and reinstall. Be sure to back up your data first.

Thanks for the reply. It looks like I will have to have some very frank words with the management of a certain store.
Thank you for clearing this up.

To resolve your issue, you'll need to purchase a genuine copy of Windows 7 Professional, then proceed to update the product key.
