Backup a server machine? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a Windows 2003 server at home.  Can WHS back this machine up like it does for XP/Vista machines, creating an image?

  • It has been done before with SBS, so as long as you do not force your WHS to run as domain member this should not be a problem. (Although the backup is not a true image - there are some files and folders excluded, just to remind you.)

In addition to what Olaf said, installing the Connector software on Windows Server 2003 is unsupported.
