Still having File access/modify problem with Synctoy 2.1. No replies to earlier post. Please help! RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am seeing Synctoy try to sync files that have only been accessed, but have not been modified.

Example: 1. Run Synctoy job.  2. Open a powerpoint presentation that is included in the job, look at it, close it.  Note - I did not alter, modify, make changes or save changes.  3. Preview Synctoy job - Synctoy now wants to update the file to the right folder.

Snyctoy GUI shows "Last Modified" times as exactly the same.

Help! This shouldn't happen, should it?

Could it have something to do with ppt's Autosave feature?  Could it be "last access" timestamps?

Synctoy is constantly updating files this way.  Each day I have to update every ppt that I taught, even though I am not saving any changes - all I do is play the powerpoint.

Is there a setting in powerpoint that needs to be altered?  Does it change something about the file each time when it is opened?  This behavior happens even when I don't play the powerpoint show.  All I have to do is open it.

I had zero replies to my earlier inquiry on this so I thought I'd try again.

  • Maybe the log would be helpful?  All I did was open 1 file, leave it open for a while and close it.

    Here is the log:

Synctoy log when previewing job.  This is before I open the file in powerpoint.  No files need syncing.
