  • Two possibilities

    1. MS caught him abusing his account and blocked his keys, in which case it would be his fault.

    2. He sold the same key to multiple people and when the activation database reflect this it blocked the key, in my opinion this is the most likely cause.

The only person to be upset at is the seller, but honestly, it isn't going to help. I know this has created problems for you but there is nothing any of us can do and we do not have anything to do with your key being blocked or not, we just try to help you identify the problem and tell you the cheapest and easiest way to fix it.

The cheapest and easiest way to fix it is to go to www.microsoft.com/genuine, attempt to validate, and pursue the options provided to resolve the issue, you should be able to purchase windows at a discount.

You will most likely have to reinstall because your version is the N version.

  • Send this link to the eBay seller: Buying and Selling Microsoft Software Safely on eBay

It specifically states that MSDN product keys are not to be sold without the entire MSDN subscription being included.  The seller violated this when he listed the item and did not disclose that they were MSDN product keys.  I have investigated many eBay sellers of Microsoft software and most seem to be either naive or outright liars.

  • According to your Windows Product ID: 00376-165-5374916-86532, your Windows 7 Professional (N) license has been determined to be non-genuine.  It appears to be a Microsoft MSDN subscriber only product key.  Did you happen to purchase this product key from an auction web site, such as eBay?  If you did, you need to contact the seller and demand a 100% refund!  For additional information, please see: Blocked Keys

  • Yes, bought from ebay in october. I suspected this when reading forums yesterday, I did not know anything about MSDN keys before.

    Thanks a lot

  • I wrote to the seller and says it is not his fault if you just blocked it after 7 months. He really has some reason, I don't understand why this key has been ok for 7 months and now it is not. He tells me to talk to you

I would like some advice and answers, why have you wait so much to block me? if you block me the same moment I wrote the key, I could easily get a refund... now it is going to be very hard.

So now, what can I do, should I talk to ebay?...

    Thank you

  • Thanks a lot to both of you for your quick response, I am upset of course to seller, but as I said... Microsoft should be faster blocking this kind of keys, so people can claim refund easier... I didn't know anything about different kind of keys before....

I don't think I could get a refund, but I will write to ebay and inform about this seller.

    Well, thank you again
