Windows 7 says not genuine and won't activate

The computer came with windows 7 home, I upgraded to windows 7 profesional, then like a month later it comes up saying windows is not genuine, I tried entering the win 7 profesional key and it says that it is an upgrade key and i have to activate windows first, then when I try the original key that is on the computer it says it is not for the correct version (because it is for windows home).

From the sound of it, you upgraded the system in the wrong way, and formatted the drive before installing Win 7, so doing a clean install, rather than an upgrade install.If you use telephone activation and explain to the rep your problem, they may take pity on you and activate the system for you - or you may have to reinstall your original OS, and then do the upgrade again.telephone activation.
Click on the Start button
in the Search box, type
SLUI 4
and hit the Enter key
follow the instructions - but when asked which service you require by the telephone ansafone, do NOT reply - this should force an operator to respond, who can deal with you.

You cannot use the product key printed on the label on the computer case. You must use the product key that is in the Windows 7 Professional retail box.
You can activate by phone by clicking Start and typing 'slui 4'.
