  • Try uninstalling One Care , use the cleanup tool - http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=828910&SiteID=2 then reinstall One Care. If the issue persists please contact support - http://onecare.live.com/standard/en-us/support/default.htm?keyword=supportsite

  • Is this version 2.0 beta or the 1.6 released version?

  • both are doing it.. what happened was i rebooted and during the boot power went out. so when i rebooted again live onecare 2.0 loaded up and did not seem to be ant thing wrong.. when i clicked the green1 icon the splash poped then i got a window error saying some was wrong exite. so i did then the error report screen poped up. never thought of any thign other then oh well windows agian LOL..

so i rebooted  and then same thing again.. then i said HMMMM tryed it one more time crashed again.. so i then uninstalled and reinstalled every thing again loaded fine then click the gree1 agani crahsed.

so i then uninstalled and use the clean program reinstalled 2.0 and boom again crashed

(at this point)now im peeved off. so i deside to install 1.6 the one i pay for and agan all installed perfect no issues. click the green1 icon and BOOM crashed same error. so now im annoyed LOL.

  • I have often referred to a reinstall of OneCare as the "hit it with a hammer" approach. It seems like you're about to use a big sledge hammer! Yes, I'm quite certain that a wipe and reinstall of Windows will allow a fresh, clean start. It doesn't explain what is wrong on the PC currently, though. I would imagine that it may be as simple a .Net Framework 2.0 being corrupt. Try repairing it - Control panel => Add/Remove Programs =>.Net Framework 2.0. Select the option to repair when the installer opens. Reboot when complete and see if OneCare's interface opens without crashing.

If that doesn't fix it, try the database reset tool used for repairing OneCare when it has update problems - perhaps it is corrupt. http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink?linkid=87330
