Is There a Group Policy for HID Compliant Devices? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

Is there a group policy for HID compliant devices? Specifically power management options that allow HID mice and keyboards to wake the computer? I had to write a powershell script to disable these two devices because every time windows updates, they are re-enabled. I got tired of manually disabling this option on both devices from the device manager.

    It is a simple script...

    powercfg -devicedisablewake "HID-compliant mouse"
    powercfg -devicedisablewake "HID Keyboard Device"

I got the device names from a list after running...

    powercfg -devicequery wake_from_any

Thank you so much for your valuable time!

    EDIT: Windows 10 Pro
