Is there a way to connect WLW to my Joomla site and transfer my WLW articles to Joomla automatically instead of copying and pasting?

    Question

  • I have many articles that had been created in WLW and now I want to move them to Joomla 1.6

    Is there a way?

I am unable to connect WLW to my Joomla site using the same process through which I can connect it to Wordpress, Blogger, etc.

    Thank you,
    M.R.

I got the following answer from a friend. Posting it here just in case someone else finds it useful:

"You need to download the MovableType API interface from:

            http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/3831/details

On the download page, it's also indicated that if you are using PHP 5.3 (instead of 5.2) that you should overwrite the file  Joomla/libraries/phpxmlrpc with a newer version, also available from the same download page.

When you have to choose the procotol from WLW, you must choose "MovableType API"; with the API at the end and not just only "MovableType"

Personally, I'm using the older version of this plugin with Joomla 1.5 and PHP 5.2; never had any problem.  More instruction on the following page:

        http://www.dionysopoulos.me/blog/using-windows-live-writer-to-edit-joomla-content

I will try to do some test this week with Joomla 1.6 to see if it works properly on Joomla 1.6."
