Microsoft reveals Xbox 360 ME gamer of the year RRS feed

  • The much-anticipated Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft had its official UAE launch today at the Galleria of the Mall of the Emirates, kicking off with a three-day event that ends on Saturday April 28.


    The highlight of the event is the Xbox 360 X-perience competition, in which participants will have the chance to take home a spectacular prize package and be named Xbox 360 ME Gamer of the Year.

    Registration for Xbox 360 X-perience competition is open to anyone up for a challenge. Those interested are encouraged to register today at the Mall of the Emirates to ensure availability and suitable time slots. Finalists will compete on Saturday at 6 pm and the grand prize winner will be announced thereafter.

    'We are thrilled to launch in the UAE, and be able to service and interact with our customers,' said Armagan Demir, Head of Entertainment & Devices Division Middle East for Microsoft. 'We have established a strong community and support system for users, and have big plans for the region through numerous activities, new game launches and support programs.'

    With over 10 million users worldwide, Xbox 360 has enjoyed great success by offering users an unprecedented range of choices. 'We aim to offer value and excitement, by giving gamers exactly what they need for an unmatched gaming experience,' said Demir. 'Over 100 games are available for the Xbox 360 in the UAE, along with a wide range of gaming accessories to add on to the gaming experience.'

    The leading next-generation console delivers high-definition games in up to 1080p resolution. In addition, Microsoft Gaming Studios launched ten of its games, including titles such as 'Gears of War', 'Viva Pinata', 'Crackdown', and 'Project Gotham Racing 3'.

    Xbox 360 also functions as an easy-to-use media extender for music, movies and photos stored away on MP3 players, digital cameras and Windows® Vista. As of today, major local retailers with gaming sections will have the Xbox 360 available for sale, offering replacement warranty and information on customer and technical support.
