Answers

  • OK sounds good, I was just wondering because with service pack 1 server uses RIS and with service pack 2 it is WDS. I don't want to get caught up studying the wrong thing.

    Thank you.

If you can study/get an overview of both, you never know what questions you'll get from the pool of questions that will make up your exam.

The following is a snippet from an answer that I received from Microsoft when I asked about the 2008 and 2008 r2 exams, while it was aimed at the newer server OS, I believe it applies to Windows 2003 also:

"...We will, however, review the existing item pool against R2 and determine if any items need to be updated, or if we need to write some new items..."

So in essence, I would not concentrate on what version you'll be tested on (as it could be anywhere from the RTM version to R2 SP2), but rather on the general objectives that are covered by the exam itself.

  • OK, and thank you very much I have been a little worried about studying the wrong thing. What you are saying is a very good idea and I will do that. I will install server with sp1 study and then install sp2 and study. Now that I am typing this and thinking about it that is an excellent idea.

    Thanks again
