hotmail blacklisted RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    We have a similar issue.

We are trying to send a mailing (newsletter) to our subscribers and emails to hotmail and live.com are bouncing back .

    with the following message.

    Action: failed
    Status: 5.5.0
Diagnostic-Code: smtp;550 SC-001 Mail rejected by Windows Live Hotmail for policy reasons. Reasons for rejection may be related to content with spam-like characteristics or IP/domain reputation problems. If you are not an email/network admin please contact your E-mail/Internet Service Provider for help. Email/network admins, please visit
http://postmaster.live.com for email delivery information and support

Our domain is readersdigest.ca, from our server ip :

We never had any problems to send emails to hotmail before today.

The recipients are all volunteer subscribers, there is an opt out link to unsubscribe.

Any idea how to get unblacklisted and how I find out what specifically triggered this so I can avoid the same problem in the future?

  • Hi,

Your best course of action is to visit the link provided in the email. That page should give you an option to connect with hotmail support techs.
