I saw some posts tht suggested using file synchronization utilities such as synctoy might lead to WHS file corruption. Some posts suggested that this might have been a bug that has been fixed. Can anyone please confirm whether I can safely use Synctoy or a similar product on the Shared Folders of WHS? I am aware that I should not attempt to use this on the "native" folders that WHS uses to store the files in Drive Extender.
The bug that has been mentioned has been fixed with the publishing of Power Pack 1. Since that time I did not read about any data losses caused by applications opening files on the server. SyncToy has a few times been recommended for synchronizing data between local folders on a client and shares, so I also would assume, you are safe, as long as you target the share by its UNC path.
