  • Question

  • Is it possible for WHS to host VPC or Virtual Server?  Are there any known issues to consider?

It's not supported and not recommended (plus it's a possible violation of the EULA).  If you are going to do it though, you should keep the virtual machines out of the WHS storage pool.

  • I have done it in the past with Virtual Server. There have been some issues with the Management Website, but besides this no problems.

As already mentioned, store the VHDs on a separate disk, which is not part of the storage pool. Also the server should have enough CPU power and memory to handle this (if the CPU has virtualization support, you will need to enable this in Bios following the guidance of the mainboard manual).
