  • Question

  • Does anyone know if there are planning to offer a new Planning Granularity choice - maybe hours or days?  It is difficult for some to understand / comprehend the cross over from hours/days to man months.  We are all so familiar with days and hours in project planning and think of resource requirements in that context.

But in the Resource Analysis module - it all gets converted to man-months.  One can do the math of course, but why not make hours or days available?  This way it can carry over to analysis with the same familiar values without having to visualize or convert days and hours into man month or vise versa?

  • I think you mean the Resource Analysis component of the Portfolio Analysis
module (or whatever terms you want to use.  That's just kind of what I ended
    up settling on).

I guess the thinking is that it's so high level and tentative that man months
(or man quarters) are pretty much as granular as you could ever want.

I haven't heard anyone else mention it as an issue, so my guess is that I
wouldn't bet on any changes being made to how it's displayed.

  • Hi John,

Do you mean "the Resource Plan" when you say " the Resource Analysis module"?

  • Indeed, from this point of view, an organisation is (normaly) not interested in such details...
